Product Design represents the core of our work here at The Product Farm. By pairing our distinct backgrounds in graphic design, product design, and manufacturing, we’ve molded our business into something truly special. We put a special twist on the products we design through our photo-realistic 3D concept renderings, created quickly and with high-quality standards. We aim to make our creative work stand out and our clients look great. Each project is a unique synthesis of design, development and fabrication. In addition to our internal collaboration with designers, The Product Farm teams up with a diverse group of collaborating agencies, fabricators and suppliers.
It all starts with an idea.

An idea can be explained in so many different ways. Sometimes words are enough. Many times however, it’s really beneficial to have a sketch to share with us, or even a hand-made rough prototype. Either way, we’d love to hear from you.
Find and verify your market.
Once you feel really good about your unique product idea and it’s potentials, it’s tremendously beneficial to compare it with market competitors. Equally important, there are lots of things you need to ask yourself. Who is the product’s ideal target audience? What should the product cost? Do you need funding up front to get started? Will you use crowd funding to realize product dreams? Are their any potential liabilities with your product that should be addressed, and if so, how do we overcome these obstacles? Should you seek intellectual property in the form of a design patent or utility patent? Will you sell direct to consumer, or via distributors and/or partner retailers, or perhaps your product is streamlined for B2B?
Exploring design concepts.
It’s time to brainstorm! The previous exercise of defining your product development path is very helpful. Now we have decided what your product target cost goals are. Starting with black and white sketches, we explore different designs, shapes, styles and colors.
From sketch to CAD.
Once a concept have been refined, it’s time to convert sketches into three dimensional, Computer Aided Design. 3D CAD is the natural next step in guiding a product towards reality. As we construct and engineer a computerized version of your idea, our final production CAD files will be the precise thing to shape your future physical product. Sometimes, you’ll discover new advantages and new challenges once you start modeling a three dimensional object. Whatever looked and worked excellent in a two dimensional concept drawing, will now be put to the test.
Once finalized, production CAD becomes the “master key” that generates your physical product. It can be produced again and again, and be modified, improved and prototyped at any stage of the life of your product, and beyond.

3D rendered visuals are a great way to add dimension to an idea or design that is still on the drawing board. You have a chance to preview and experience your vision before a major investment is made to prototype or produce the final product. Imagine it as a computerized product photo studio. We stage your product concept. We apply suitable materials, colors, surface textures, branding and lighting to get that feel and look you want. At any time, we can easily change out elements, adjust colors and textures. We refine and improve, until we match or exceed your future product expectations.
